ATTENDANCE

The Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles will welcome the Rev. Dr. Antonio José Gallardo Lucena as its 8th Bishop with July 11-12 liturgies and watch parties followed by weekly deanery celebrations.

The consecration and ordination service set for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, at All Saints Church in Pasadena, will be a ticketed event complemented by watch parties screening the livestream (available on the diocesan Facebook page and YouTube channel) across the six-county diocese. 

Due to limited seating capacity at All Saints Church, in-person attendance at the consecration service will be by invitation only.

Invitations will be sent directly to Bishops of The Episcopal Church, members of diocesan governing bodies, heads of diocesan institutions and schools, diocesan staff, postulants and candidates for ordination, and other special guests.

All other clergy of the diocese intending to participate in person are requested to RSVP their attendance to the weekend's events. Please click on the "Clergy" tab for more information.

Each parish, mission congregation, and mission center of the diocese will also receive 3 tickets for its lay members. An email will be sent directly to each church office with instructions for how to distribute the tickets.

The service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Main seating will be in the nave with accessible seating available in the the north transept. Overflow seating will be available in the Learning Center upstairs where guests can watch the service via livestream. 

A reception with live music, aguas frescas, and food highlighting the flavors of Los Angeles will follow on the lawn.

WATCH PARTIES

So that everyone across the diocese can celebrate this joyous occasion together, the Consecration Committee has arranged for watch parties in each of the 10 geographic deaneries. Host congregations will receive a stipend to help cover expenses.

INSTALLATION

Newly consecrated Bishop Gallardo L. will be installed at St. John's Cathedral in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 12 at 4:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. Prior to the service, Bishop Gallardo L. will be doing a Walk of Love and Truth beginning at 2:00 p.m. from St. Paul's Commons in Echo Park to the Cathedral (4.6 miles). 

We welcome our diocesan community to join us at our Cathedral home for this joyous occasion!
